Join our expert survey and evaluate the newly developed AFTERLIFE process for the extraction of value-added products from waste water!

As part of the EU funded project AFTERLIFE, we are conducting a survey on the socio-economic impact of our newly developed biotechnological process to improve the valorisation of wastewater and its resulting products.

In the AFTERLIFE project, a flexible, cost- and resource-efficient process forrecovering and upgrading relevant components from wastewater is being developed. The AFTERLIFE process represents an advance over existing approaches to wastewater treatment based on physico-chemical and biological methods, as it combines a series of membrane filtration units to separate out all the solids in the wastewater.

These are then treated to obtain high-purity extracts and metabolites for the food industry or, alternatively, are converted into value-added biopolymers such as polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs). The remaining water outflow will be ultrapure and ready for re-use.

With the help of this survey, we are trying to find out whether there is interest in the newly developed biotechnological process among important stakeholders such as wastewater processors, the food industry, political decision-makers or NGOs focusing on water protection. In this way, we hope to gain insights into possible opportunities or barriers to implementing the new process for wastewater utilisation. We would therefore be grateful if you would complete our short questionnaire (9 questions in total). Please find the link to our survey here: www.afterlife-project.eu/survey-page/.
