Anthesis Partners with CO2 Conversion Technology Provider, Remediiate

Remediiate and Anthesis partner to drive advancements in the conversion of CO2 gases into sustainable food sources

Anthesis, the sustainability activator, and Remediiate, the CO2 conversion technology provider, today announced a partnership to drive the advancement of carbon emission conversion into sustainable food sources.

Sharing a common passion for tackling climate change, the partnership combines Anthesis’ connected position within the sustainability industry and its purpose of making sustainability happen, with Remediiate’s innovative suite of proven, patented, photonic technologies that convert CO2 into nutritional rich algae at industrial scale. The partnership forms an end-to-end business model, linking the emitters to the feed suppliers, while repositioning CO2 as a resource to be exploited.

With 36 billion tonnes of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions generated globally each year, Remediiate’s market leading technology could, at scale, remove the 20 billion tonnes generated from power generation and industrial processes. In addition to eradicating more than half of all global GHG emissions, Remediiate’s scalable approach would address an urgency for low carbon animal feed to support the growing population and subsequent increases in food production. The availability of protein-rich food sources also reduces the reliance on soy and the farming impacts related to deforestation.

This agreement is another example of how Anthesis is partnering with early-to-growth stage companies through its Anthesis Ventures initiative, that share its purpose and vision for a more productive and resilient world. Anthesis Ventures provide companies with access to subject matter experts, extended networks of partners, connections, investors and impact capital, and crucially a path to meaningful engagement with Anthesis’ 800+ global client base, offering start-ups the scale and traction they need to grow.

“We believe Remediiate’s solution will be a game-changing disruptor and will become very significant to countries, governments and businesses in sequestering CO2 and noxious gases from major facilities.“

Anthesis Executive Director and Chief Sustainability Officer Paul Crewe says: “We’ve entered a critical ten-year period for the planet therefore, by embracing a solution tackling two, pressing macro issues, represents a great opportunity to deliver positive impact. We believe Remediiate’s solution will be a game-changing disruptor and will become very significant to countries, governments and businesses in sequestering CO2 and noxious gases from major facilities such as; power stations, cement and steel works, Energy-From-Waste plants and converting these to high value algae for many uses such as animal feed, soil rejuvenation, and methane reduction in cows.”

Carlos de Pommes, Remediiate’s CEO added: “The potential of Algae has been around for many years, but our proven technical break throughs have enabled us to move from small scale lab operation to 100k tonnes plus of mass production. Our next task is to create the market for resultant biomass. Replacement of soy does not happen overnight and requires commitment from the feed industry. By partnering with Anthesis, Remediiate is able raise awareness with feed manufacturers, farmers, manufacturers and producers. Our innovation is revolutionising the business model by solving two global problems profitably.”
